If it Sounds Incredible, Then it Is

Keyed door locks and ignitions and scratchy AM-only radios might now seem prehistoric, but a few year so they were all there was. However, those extras that once seemed sci-fi-esque and only available to Batman or 007, can now be had by non-crime fighting superheroes. All you have to do is buy them.

"People come from all over the County to upgrade cars of all types," says Annie Amen, who, with  her husband John, owns Sounds Incredible Mobile in Danbury. The store features every conceivable audio component for your car, as well as remote entry and in-dash navigation systems. They do all their own custom installations on site as well.

Sounds Incredible also specializes in home theatre systems, from basic big screen TVs to dedicated movie rooms with plush seating and premium integrated audio-visual components. "We can give you a movie theatre experience in your home. It's pretty cool," says Annie.

But John and Annie's big sellers are car-centric. "Keyless remote systems," answer John and Annie simultaneously when asked about their most popular items. "No one likes getting into a cold car," says Annie. "What's great about keyless entry is that with one click, from a range of about 1,000 feet, you can open your door and start your car's ignition." The systems start at about $200.

Also popular this year are completely integrated navigation systems. Sounds Incredible will mount an ample-sized GPS system into your dashboard, where the existing radio is located. "What's great is that you don't have to spend more money at a dealership buying a car with features you don't necessarily want -- like leather seats or two moon roofs -- in order to have a navigation system and better sound system. It can actually save you money to do an after-market upgrade."

John and Annie also sell the requisite sub-woofers that can be heard thumping in cars alongside you. Enhancements such as these kick up the bass "in frequencies that regular six and-a-half inch car speakers can't reproduce." But they're not just loud, she assures. "They make music sound much better even when they're not cranked up."

Whether you're looking for a warm car, an integrated map or supreme sub-woofer, Sounds Incredible Mobile has your car covered. (Batman might even be tempted to upgrade his speakers.)
