Getting a bone density test or mammogram probably don't top your list of fun weekend activities. That's why the Annual Fairfield County Women's Expo combines free health screenings with shopping, celebrity appearances, beauty makeovers, giveaways, and even psychic readings - it's all about getting you in the door! In addition to bone density and mammograms, screenings target cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose and are given courtesy of Stamford Hospital, which is sponsoring the expo; the hospital will also give free back and Reiki massages and demonstrate cutting-edge robotic surgery technology. 200 vendors will offer everything from clothes and jewelry to fitness equipment and candy (Mother's Day shopping, anyone?) to dating service sign-ups. Still not sold? There'll also be fashion shows, seminars on everything from Zumba to karate to curling irons and raffles with prizes ranging from an Antigua vacation to facials and pedicures. If by some chance none of the above interests you, perhaps the Expo's star attraction will: Days of Our Lives actor James Scott ("E.J. DiMera"), who will be signing autographed pictures.
