Ordinarily, I use this space to tell you about food Ive eaten and think you should eat, too. But today, Im telling you about food other people have played with and turned into delectable dioramas for your visual consumption. Im talking about gingerbread houses.
The Stamford Museum and Nature Center is hosting Visions of Gingerbread II: The Sweetest Architects, a collection of confectionary constructions from some of the areas most creative pastry chefs, restaurants and caterers. Now through December 5, you can feast your eyes on their festive formations, and cast your ballot for your favorite. You can even bid in the silent auction to take one of these houses home.
Its a sweet holiday treat for the whole family. And dont worry if youre the type who has trouble keeping your hands off the goodies -- everything is behind plexiglass, so you wont get tossed for tasting.
