Festival Colors it Green

Live Green Connecticut! isn't just a slogan. It's a call to arms, and on September 18 and 19 Green Connecticut! covers all the environmental bases with vendors, presentations, activities, giveaways and more. Titanic discoverer Dr. Robert Ballard makes an appearance as well, to tell his fascinating story at this wide-ranging two day festival at Norwalk's Taylor Farm Park.  Stop by to plug in to exhibits about green building, renewable energy, organic food, earth-friendly fashion, and more. Learn about bees from Marina Marchese of Red Bee Honey. Meet master chef Michel Nischan who shares his expertise with clean and green food. Find out what's going on at Stepping Stones Museum, the Norwalk Seaport and the New Canaan Nature Center and check out a Tesla roadster. Feel the vibe from live music performed by the Fairfield County Jazz Guild, vocalist Scot Albertson and Bone Dry. Step up for free samples, discounts and giveaways, including Cell-nique Super Green Drink, yoga classes, Reiki sessions and a slew of others. The cost is $5 per car and proceeds support environmental and conservation groups, including the Norwalk River Valley Trail and Calf Pasture Beach Wind Power Project. Hours are: Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Besides the free samples, you'll take away lots of tips to ensure your -- and the earth's -- longevity.
