Garret J. Dykhouse, 90, Of Wyckoff WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Garret J. Dykhouse, of Wyckoff,  died Nov. 2. He was 90.  The son of the late Henry and Anna Dykhouse, he was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Midland Park. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he spent his entire career as an underwriter and executive for Royal Insurance Company in New York before retiring in 1988.  Dykhouse was a dedicated volunteer in numerous national and community organizations, including service as a board member and chairman of the Christian Health Care Center and Christian Health Care Center Foundation in Wyckoff, a board member of the Eastern Christian Scho…

Paul Edward Sumner, 92, Of Oakland OAKLAND, N.J. -- Paul Edward Sumner, 92, of Oakland, died Sunday, Oct. 30. He was born Aug. 4, 1924, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, the son of Edward and Enid Sumner. He grew up in Iowa and attended local schools. In 1941, after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Sumner, who was not old enough to enter the military, decided to help his country by enrolling in school to become an airplane mechanic. He was drafted in 1943, placed in the U.S. Army Air Corps and sent for training at Kearns Field in Utah.
