Female Prison Guard Assaulted At Bridgeport Correctional A prison guard was injured during an assault by an inmate at the Bridgeport Correctional Center. The assault took place in Bridgeport on Wednesday, Aug. 2 when the prisoners grabbed the officer as she conducted routine duties. During the attack, the guard was pushed into a metal storage bin and struck repeatedly, said Ashley McCarthy, director of External Affairs for the Connecticut Department of Corrections. Moving Company Employee Stole Watch From CT Home, Police Say A moving company employee from Bridgeport is charged with stealing a watch from a woman's Darien home and then pawning it, police said.  The original incident happened on Monday, July 25, 2022, when a group of movers was helping a designer lift furniture at the victim's home in Darien. The watch was then reported stolen on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, by the victim, according to Darien Police Sgt. Hit-Run Driver Apprehended After Striking Cruiser, CT State Police Say A 55-year-old Fairfield County man was arrested after he allegedly hit a Connecticut State trooper's vehicle and then fled the scene. The incident took place in Stratford around 1:05 a.m., Monday, Oct. 31 on I-95 southbound in the area of Exit 33. Suspect Nabbed For Robbery At CT Barnes & Noble A Fairfield County has been arrested in connection with an alleged robbery at an area book store. Michael Larocco, age 37, of Stamford, was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 10, for the robbery that took place a day earlier. According to Captain Richard Conklin, of the Stamford Police, Larocco walked into the Barnes and Noble at the Stamford Town Mall and slipped a note to the cashier asking for money.  The note stated he had a gun, and demanded the cashier turn over $100, Conklin said.
