Report Of Possible Weapon At School In CT Leads To Prompt Police Response Police quickly responded to a school in Fairfield County after a report of a relative of a student who may have had a weapon. At around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 in Wilton, administrators at Middlebrook Middle School in Wilton received the report from a staff member, who believed he had overheard a student stating his brother had a weapon in his vehicle.  At that time, the location of the vehicle was unknown, and there was no indication it would be on school property. 3 Escape CT House Fire Without Injury Three people were able to escape a Fairfield County house fire without injury. The fire occurred in New Canaan on White Shade Oak Lane around 11:40 p.m., Monday, April 8. According to Jill Stayman with the New Canaan Fire Department, the fire started at the rear of the two-car garage and extended into the attic area above it. The three occupants in the home were alerted to the fire when the smoke detector was activated.
