Dog Shot By Police To Save Man's Life In Region A pit bull dog was shot by police in central Massachusetts to save the life of a 75-year-old who was left seriously injured after the dog attacked him, authorities said.  Lunenburg police arrived at the town's animal control center just before noon on Monday, Aug. 1., the department said. Upon arrival, Wayne Comeau was found inside an outside kennel with the dog, bleeding from bite marks on his head, face, and torso, WCVB said.  The dog had bit down on the man's arm and wouldn't let go. At the time of the attack, Comeau was apparently taking the dog out to go to the bathroom, according to …

Report: Athlete From New England Died After Choking During Charity Contest A college student from the Hudson Valley who died over the weekend in Massachusetts choked during an eating contest for charity, according to a report. Rockland County resident Madie Nicpon, age 20, a 2019 graduate of Suffern High School, was a junior at Tufts University in Massachusetts. Nicpon choked during a hot dog eating contest held at an off-campus home and died of her injuries at Massachusetts General Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 17, according to a report by WCVB, ABC 5 in Boston. Loud Boom Heard In New England May Have Been Meteor, Scientists Say A loud boom heard in parts of New England over the weekend may have been caused by a meteor entering the atmosphere, according to a new report. New Hampshire TV station WMUR reported that some residents across parts of Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine reported hearing the sound around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10. The news station said scientists reported that the sound may have been a sonic boom from a meteor that burned up after entering the atmosphere at supersonic speed.
