It does.  Up to 1,152 avocados a day are used at all six restaurants — including the latest (and first) in Connecticut in Norwalk.  That number will go up to 1,344 when the seventh Guac Time opens in Queens in the fall. Berkshire County residents Patrick Latini, age 25, and Talia Sistrunk, age 23, both of Pittsfield, were arrested on around 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 1s for the reported robbery of the Subway at 179 South Street in Pittsfield. Longtime CT Resident Peter Buck, Subway Co-Founder, Dies Fairfield County's Peter Buck, who became a billionaire after making a small investment in the sandwich shop that later became Subway, has died. Buck, a longtime Danbury resident, died Thursday, Nov. 18, at Danbury Hospital, the company announced. A cause of death was not released. He was 90 years old. Subway Bread Is Not Bread, Irish Court Rules Whatever it is Subway is serving its sandwiches on, it’s not bread, according to the Supreme Court of Ireland. On Thursday, Oct. 1, the Irish Supreme Court ruled that Subway's “bread” did not meet the standard definition of the food item. Subway’s bread is too packed with sugar to be counted in the grain food group, the court ruled. This all came about because Subway wanted to take advantage of Ireland’s Value-Added Tax, which provides tax breaks on healthy foods.
