Covid-19: About One-Third Of Virus Survivors Have Longer-Term Mental Health Issues, Study Says While the physical effects of COVID-19 may wear off for those unfortunate enough to contract the virus, more than a third of survivors are reporting long-term mental health concerns, according to a new study. A study published in the Lancet Psychiatry journal on Tuesday, April 6 found that 34 percent of COVID-19 survivors received a diagnosis for a neurological or psychological condition within six months of their infection. About a month ago, there were two COVID-19 patients among the Yale system’s hospitals, which include Yale New Haven, Bridgeport, Lawrence and Memorial, Greenwich, and Westerly hospitals.
