Driver Killed After Compact SUV Crashes Into Tree On CT Roadway A driver was killed in an overnight crash in Fairfield County. It happened around 3:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 on Route 8 in Shelton. A 2013 Nissan Rogue was traveling northbound approximately one-quarter mile south of Exit 14 when it left the roadway and entered the roadside where it collided with a tree, Connecticut State Police said.  Following impact with the tree, the Rogue caught fire.  The driver, whose identity is not yet known, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.  This collision remains under investigation.  Anyone who may …

New Haven County resident Kevin Gormley, age 68, of West Haven, was killed around 6:15 p.m., Saturday, March 25 near the entrance to Fort Nathan Hale Park in New Haven. The crash took place in Middlesex County around 12:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, on Route 9 South near Exit 18 in Cromwell. According to the State Police, a vehicle was driving in the left lane of Route 9 South near the Exit 18 off-ramp when it was struck by a wrong-way driver head-on.
