A Westport man was arrested and faces multiple drug charges after Greenwich Police allegedly found him to be in possession of heroine and crack cocaine during a traffic stop.
The stop occurred Tuesday, Dec. 11 on I95 after police observed a vehicle make a turn signal violation.
The vehicle’s occupants consented to a search, at which point, a narcotics-detecting K-9 unit was brought in. During the search, police discovered passenger Frank Ventura, 61, in possession of a crack pipe.
Ventura was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for a thorough search. Police discovered an additional amount of heroin and crack cocaine secreted on his person. Ventura was charged with the following:
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of narcotics
- Possession of narcotics with intent to distribute
Ventura was later released after posting $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear at Stamford Court on Wednesday, Dec. 26.
