A 31-year-old man is behind bars after allegedly deliberately hitting a woman who was walking with his vehicle during a kidnapping attempt and then trying to drown her in New Canaan, police said. Police were notified of the attack by a 911 call around 4 p.m., Monday, May 25. New Canaan Police Officers Honored For Saving Person Who Was Not Breathing
Two New Canaan officers are being recognized for recently saving a person who was having difficulty breathing and had lost consciousness. According to New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski, Sgt. Aaron LaTourette and Officer Matthew Blank arrived at the scene within two minutes of receiving the call. Once on the scene, the two quickly determined that the patient was not breathing and had no pulse. The officers deployed an automatic external defibrillator, which administered a shock. Two police officers are being recognized for saving the life a person who was on fire following a vehicle crash in New Canaan. The incident took place around 9 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 19, when responding to a report of a vehicle fire on Rosebrook Road, said New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski.
