Flood Advisory: New Round Of Thunderstorms Sweep Through Area A new round of thunderstorms sweeping through the area Tuesday night has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Flash Flood Warnings and Flood Advisories for the region.  The Flash Flood Warning, for Westchester, Rockland and Orange counties, is in effect until 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. The Flood Advisory, for Putnam and Fairfield counties, is in effect until 9:15 p.m. Just before 7 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area.  Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for much of the Hudson Valley and all of Fairfield County as a band of storms moves from west to east. The watch now covers Westchester, Fairfield, Rockland and Orange counties. At 2:18 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Tappan, moving northeast at 10 mph with 60 mph wind gusts, says the National Weather Service.
