Darien Man Charged With Strangulation, Assault DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien man was charged with grabbing someone's throat and phone after an argument turned physical last week, according to police. The Darien Police Communications Center received a 911 call on Thursday, Jan. 4 from a cell phone. The dispatcher was unable to speak with the caller but heard arguing and someone yelling for help, police said. The location of the call was traced and police responded to a home in the Tokeneke section of Darien, according to police.
