Suspect On Loose After Overnight Post Road Deli Robbery In Darien A suspect is on the run after breaking into a popular Fairfield County deli, police said. An officer from the Darien Police Department was flagged down in front of Mama Carmela’s deli on Route 1 (Post Road) at approximately 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Police said that two people told the officer that the deli had been broken into overnight. According to police, the two employees arrived at work to find that the lock on the front door had been damaged.
