He died on Thursday, Nov. 2, said Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling. Feola served in the Norwalk Fire Department for nearly 20 years. Attic Fire Heavily Damages Norwalk Home A fire that started in a finished attack, heavily damaged a Norwalk home with smoke and water. The fire started around at the Norwalk home located at 150 Chestnut Hill Road around 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 18. The residents were able to self-evacuate. No one was injured, said Deputy Chief Michael McCallum. Some 29 firefighters who responded with two trucks were able to bring the fire under control in 25 minutes, McCallum said. The home sustained heavy fire and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, McCallum said.

Connecticut Fire Department Mourning After Captain Dies Of Cancer A Connecticut fire department is mourning the death of a fire captain who served the department for 27 years. Rocky Hill Fire Captain James Lamarre died after a months-long battle with cancer, the Hartford County department announced on Tuesday, March 8. The Rocky Hill Fire Department said Lamarre's cancer was work-related. Lamarre served many roles in his years with the fire department, including a career apparatus mechanic, officials said.  Lamarre was also a United States Army veteran and a chaplain for the Benino-Beck VFW Post 2138 in Rocky Hill.
