High School Student From Fairfield County Dies After Battle With Cancer A Hudson Valley high school student who lived in Connecticut has died at the age of 16 after he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Matthew Dooley died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 5, following his battle with a glioblastoma brain tumor, according to his obituary. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Jane Dooley, his sisters, his grandmother and his uncles. Wilton Resident Peggy Grodd Spearheads Team That Raises $2M For Cancer Research Wilton resident Peggy Grodd has worked diligently to spearhead a team that has now raised a cumulative $2 million for cancer research. Peggy and her team, now called Amy’s Admirers/Webber’s Warriors, joined the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk in honor of Peggy’s sister, Amy Kohlberg Quinlan, who died of cancer in 2003.  The team name was eventually expanded to include Neal Webber, a friend of Peggy’s husband’s friend who died of prostate cancer.
