Only a team with a name like the Blue Wave could expect to excel on a cold, rainy day. But thats just what Darien did at the Country Club of New Canaan on Monday, sailing away with a 157-163 win over the previously undefeated New Canaan Rams. Senior tri-captain Brian Curry was co-medalist with C.J. Swift of New Canaan, both of whom shot 38. Providing strong support for the Wave were sophomore Kieran Suri (39), freshman Cameron Van de Graaf (39) and senior tri-captain Andrew Winter (41). Darien moves to 13-0-1 and New Canaan is now 13-1.
New Canaan is one of the very best golf programs in the state, said Darien Coach Tom ODonnell, and we feel very fortunate to have come away with the win. But we have to keep looking ahead, because we have to travel to Greenwich on Wednesday to face Greenwich, who is 14-1.
