Darien police are investigating paintball activity the morning of Wednesday, April 5, on the eastbound side of the Darien Train Station.
Two commuters — a 32-year-old Brooklyn man and a 52-year-old New York man — told police they had been shot at with a paintball gun after getting off a train from New York.
Both men said they were walking through the parking lot to work when a black four-door sedan drove through the parking lot and someone inside shot at them with a paintball gun, police said.
Police believe the suspects shot twice but missed both victims.
Neither man believed they had been targeted but were just the victims of opportunity, police said.
The men there were at least two suspects in the car, but they were unable to describe them, police said.
The black sedan fled the area on Squab Lane toward Leroy Avenue, police said.
Officers found that two nearby parked vehicles had been hit by the orange paintballs that had been fired at the intended victims, police said.
One vehicle was a Jeep Grand Cherokee and the other was a Volvo XC90, police said. The vehicles were otherwise undamaged.
