Jerige was born to Walter McCarthy and Frances Costello McCarthy, and was raised in Norwalk, Conn. She attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from Danbury State Teachers College. She was a resident of Darien for 30 years. She was a member of Trinity Church in Greenwich, Conn., and also a member of the Women of Vision Greenwich chapter.
Jerige is survived by her children, Brian Reed (MaryBeth) of Munroe Falls, Ohio; Sheila Reed of Phoenix, Ariz.; Carol Roy of Cheshire, Conn.; Frances Reed of Darien, Conn.; Susan Hanson (Bret) of Hudson, Maine; four grandchildren; brother, Robert McCarthy (Jenny) of Westport, Conn. She was predeceased by her former husband, Daniel E. Reed, Jr.; husband, Walter C. Jerige; brother, Walter McCarthy; sister, Mary McCarthy.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Jerige’s life will be held Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m. at the Christ Church, Greenwich, Conn. A luncheon reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
