Girls Scouts Help the Homeless Stay Warm

Girl Scout Troop 50097 in Weston is doing its part to help the many homeless people in the Fairfield County area. The girls are organizing a "One Warm Coat Drive" to benefit Person-to-Person in Darien, an organization founded in the late 1960s to help those in need and help others learn about the impact of poverty and injustice. Coats will also be sent to the Pacific House in Stamford, a shelter for the homeless.

Gently worn coats for men, women and children can be dropped off through Dec. 15 at Weston Intermediate School, Hurlbutt Elementary School or the Weston Public Library.
