Darien Hockey Hosts NHL Stars For Fundraiser

DARIEN, Conn. – Professional hockey players were on the scene when the Darien High School Hockey Parents Association hosted a fundraiser for high school hockey at Wee Burn Country Club.

Players in attendance included Boston Bruin Tommy Cross, Columbus Blue Jacket Cam Atkinson, Tampa Bay Lightning and future ZSC Lion Ryan Shannon, and Ottawa Senator Danny New. Keynote speakers were Ben Prentiss of Prentiss Hockey Performance and Cross, who was captain of the national champion Boston College team and who signed with the Boston Bruin organization.

Several popular activities were held at the event, such as a putting contest that was won by Nick Tuzinkiewicz, followed by runner-up Kevin Kuryla, and a closest to the pin contest won by Mike MacDonald, with runner-up Jack Massie.
