YWCA Darien/Norwalk Plans Program On Letting Kids Fail

DARIEN, Conn. -- The YWCA of Darien/Norwalk will present "Letting Your Kids Fail: Building Resilience" on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. at Hindley Elementary School.

This program will address the lack of coping skills that children who are excessively sheltered and overly reliant on their parents' experience when faced with difficult circumstances, and the importance of letting children experience challenges in life to learn and grow. 

Amanda Geffner, licensed clinical social worker at Family Centers in Darien, will discuss why it’s important to let kids fail and will give parents strategies to encourage independence and responsibility in their children.

Registration is recommended at ywcadariennorwalk.org and allows for notification of any program changes or parking information.

Hindley Elementary School is at 10 Nearwater Lane in Darien.
