Over the weekend, officers were called to a residence in Manassas, where there was a reported incident involving the teen after she allegedly assaulted a family member.

Members of the Prince William County Police Department were called at around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24 to a home in the 7700 block of Quail Run Court in Manassas when a fight broke out and the girl prevented police contact before leaving the area.

Police say that first responders were able to track down the teen as she was walking away, but when they attempted to detain her, she actively resisted and refused to follow verbal commands, at one point biting one of the officer before she was ultimately apprehended.

The officer reported minor injuries.

The teen was charged with:

  • Assault and battery on a law enforcement officer;
  • Obstruction of justice;
  • Preventing the summoning of law enforcement;
  • Two counts of domestic assault and battery;
  • Destruction of property.

She was being held at the Prince William County Juvenile Detention Center pending her next court appearance.
