Dunbar High School student Ceph Christie, 17, allegedly drowned while witnesses watched him swimming to a small boat, WTOP reported.

Christie often posted his passion for baseball on social media, proudly sharing moments from his career on the Ground Breakers Baseball Academy team.

"We love you. Your soul is hitting home runs, winning every race, walking every fashion show. And I will see you in my minds eye and in my dreams. You are with our ancestors."

Christie's Auntie Mimi shared her devastation over the light that was extinguished far too son.

The teen disappeared around Thompson's Boathouse and D.C. search crews looked for Christie for nearly two hours, WTOP said.
