City Leaders Decry Neglect Following Fire at Historic Virginia Inteermont College Campus A massive fire at the former Virginia Intermont College campus in Bristol tore through several buildings overnight in what seemed like an inevitability to at least one City Council member. Questions are being raised following the massive fire, which broke out shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 and rapidly spread.  Crews were still reportedly at the scene early on Friday morning attempting to get the blaze under control following reported ceiling collapses. Woman Forced To Give Birth On Jail Cell Floor While Staff 'Laughed' At Her Files Lawsuit A pregnant woman who was arrested on a probation violation the day before she went into labor filed a federal lawsuit after nurses in a Maryland jail allegedly ignored her screams for help as she gave birth alone on a dirty jail cell floor, according to multiple reports. Jazmin Valentine was over eight months pregnant when she was taken into custody and placed in the Washington County jail.
