Tropical System Expected To Become Hurricane Heads Toward Virginia: Here's Projected Path A new tropical system has just been identified that has the potential to become a hurricane with its projected path taking it up the East Coast. And Virginia could get hit, according to the National Weather Service NOAA National Hurricane Center (see image above). Tropical Depression 10 formed late Saturday afternoon, Aug. 26, according to the National Hurricane Center. Ex-Ravens QB Ryan Mallett Drowns In Gulf Of Mexico, 35 Former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Ryan Mallett has died in an apparent drowning in Florida on Tuesday June 27, officials said. He was 35 years old. The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department identified Mallett as the victim who drowned in the Gulf of Mexico. Another Massive Shark Tracked Off Maryland Coast — This One 1,600 Pounds A 1,600-pound shark was tracked off the Maryland coast on Friday, July 1. Scot, a 12-foot-long white shark, was "pinged" in the southern portion of Ocean City around 9 a.m., according to shark research group OCEARCH.  A "ping" happens when an animal tag breaks the surface of the water, sending data. Last week, an 883-pound white shark named Freya pinged in the area. Scot was tagged by researchers last September in Nova Scotia.
