MPD Officers 'In Good Spirits' After Being Shot During DC Standoff, Chief Says The three Metropolitan Police Department officers who were shot by a barricaded man during a standoff in Southeast DC on Wednesday morning are recovering at the hospital, according to Chief Pamela Smith. Officers were called to the 500 block of Hanna Place SE on Feb. 14, where an armed man barricaded himself inside after they attempted to serve an arrest warrant, reportedly for animal cruelty offenses.
