Two arrests have been made in a shooting that happened earlier this month in Arlington, police said. Elijah Broadus, 21, and Isaiah Grady, 18, were charged for their roles in a shooting in which at least one person in a group of six fired at a vehicle leaving a parking lot on S. Kenmore Street and 23rd Street S., on Dec. 2, Arlington County police said. An inquiry has been launched after there was a reported in-custody death at the Arlington County Detention Facility. Shortly before 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, police and fire crews were called to the facility, where 55-year-old David Gerhard, of Hedgesville, West Virginia, was found unresponsive in the medical unit, officials say. Police in Arlington have arrested a man they say shot a food deliveryman last week. Ahaan Kale, 19, was arguing with the deliveryman as he was dropping food off on the 3500 block of S. Police in Arlington arrested a 21-year-old man for sexually assaulting a juvenile in 2020, they said. Matthew Coble, of Reston, was charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child and production of child porn, on Friday, Oct. 13. A woman being held at a Virginia jail for trespassing was found dead in her cell, authorities in Arlington announced. Abonesh Woldegeorges, 73, died on Sunday, Aug. 27, when she was found unresponsive in her cell at the Arlington County Detention Facility, according to officials.
