Deputy Feels Voltage Feet From Crash That Downed Live Wires In Stafford
Nearly $50,000 in damages were caused by a tractor trailer crash that took down live wires in Stafford Monday, Aug. 28, authorities said. The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. at Admiral Drive and Wilson Cove in Aquia Harbour. when the tractor trailer struck a power line, causing damage to the poles. Live wires fell across the vehicle, too. Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunicators and bystanders told the driver to remain in the truck until the power could be turned off. A fresh set of express lanes are making their Interstate 95 debut this week in northern Virginia. The 10-mile stretch of the new express lanes along Interstate 95 in Stafford will open to the public on Friday, Aug. 18. The lanes are the first phase of a two-phase project. A vehicle crash was slowing traffic along I-264 in Virginia Beach Wednesday morning, Aug. 16. The accident happened on the eastbound side at mile marker 20.8 near near Lynnhaven Parkway, just before 8:30 a.m., the VDOT website says. A driver died in an Albermarle County crash on the Route 250 Bypass Thursday, Aug. 10, police said.
