Three men were given prison time for their roles in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old in Northwest DC in 2020, authorities announced.
Two District residents and a man from Maryland are all heading to prison after admitting to their roles in the fatal shooting of Taijhon Wyatt that also left another person injured, according to the Department of Justice.
Those charged:
Trey Prillerman, 19, of Washington, DC;
Nelfy Hernandez, 20, of Washington, DC;
Deandre Levy, 22, of Gaithersburg.

Lewkus Turner, 29, of Washington, DC, was convicted by a jury of voluntary manslaughter while armed and other offenses for a mid-afternoon shooting of a family member in December 2021 over a social media post, federal authorities announced on Monday, June 12.
Prosecutors said that shortly before 4 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2021, Turner’s cousin, Vincent Gyamfi drove to the 1600 block of 29th Street SE to have words with him over a social media post he made earlier in the week.

Gunman Gets Maximum Sentence For Killing Two Fairfax High School Classmates
A Northern Virginia man who was found guilty of killing two teens at a Springfield home in 2021 has received the maximum sentence, much to the chagrin of some in the community.
Zachary Burkard, now 20, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after admitted to shooting South County High School classmates Ersheen Elaiaiser, 17, and Calvin Van Pelt, 16, in April 2021, according to multiple reports.
He received 10 years each for voluntary manslaughter for the deaths of the teens. When he is released, Burkard will face an additional three years of post-release supervision.

Voluntary Manslaughter Suspect, 26, In Custody: Virginia Beach Police
Police have arrested a Virginia Beach man for causing fatal head injuries to another person while in a physical fight, officials said.On August 11, at around 11:15 p.m., Wesley Horbal, 26, and the victim were fighting at a business in the 3200 block of Shore Drive, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.
During the fight, the victim sustained a head injury and was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment, police reported.
On August 25, the victim succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Woodbridge Weed Deal In 2020 Ended With One Dead; Suspect Now Prosecuted
The suspect in the 2020 murder of a man during a Woodbridge drug deal was recently prosecuted, officials said. On December 2020, the suspect, Taron Thomas, set up a marijuana deal at Tackett’s Mill Shopping Center, where he later shot and killed the victim, Matthew Costanzo, according to the Prince William County Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney.
Thomas fired six shots in total, hitting Costanzo and his female companion, authorities said.
