Students and staff at a Virginia high school were temporarily out in the cold on Tuesday morning after a precautionary evacuation. Loudoun County High School was evacuated shortly after 9 a.m. on Jan. 30 due to the reported presence of the odor of gas throughout parts of the building, according to police. A Virginia elementary school was evacuated on Wednesday afternoon after a threat was made against the building. An alert was issued by the Alexandria Police Department at round 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, after a threat targeting Charles Barrett Elementary School on Martha Custis Drive was reported. A small fire forced the evacuation of a Virginia high school shortly after students came to class on Wednesday morning, officials say. Crews from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department were called to South Lakes High School in the 11400 block of South Lakes Drive in Reston at around 9:15 a.m. on Jan. 3 to investigate a reported fire. : High School In Fredericksburg Takes Precaution After Receiving Threats
Students and faculty at James Monroe High School in Fredericksburg were evacuated on Wednesday, September 14, after the school received threats, police said.Sometime before noon, police arrived at the school to investigate a possible threat, while those on campus took precaution and evacuated, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department. At around 1 p.m., police and a K-9 unit finished searching the school and reported they did not find any threat, officials said. Authorities say they arrested a Loudoun County teenager and charged him with sending a bomb threat to his school on Wednesday, June 1, that triggered an evacuation order. Authorities evacuated a Loudoun County high school on Wednesday, June 1, after a staff member received a note that claimed someone had planted a bomb in the building. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spent the afternoon going over Potomac Falls High School with bomb-sniffing dogs and found nothing, authorities said. Bomb Squad Called To Loudoun County School For Science Project Gone Wrong
A science project at an Ashburn high school ended with the bomb squad evacuating students this week. On Monday, May 23, administrators at Independence High School contacted the school's resource officer about some scorch marks on the sidewalk outside of the school, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.
