The Dumfries man's gun was caught as he entered the security checkpoint, TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said. The X-ray unit alerted on the carry-on bag, which required a closer inspection. The firearm was removed by the local police. The man also faces a stiff financial civil penalty for bringing a gun to a TSA security checkpoint. Windows Smashed, Furniture Broken: Spotsylvania Baptist Church Vandalized The Craigs Baptist Church community is reeling after the Spotsylvania church was found vandalized. On August 7,  staff posted that they arrived at the church in the morning and saw smashed windows, overturned furniture, and walls splattered with paint. The church said they are working with local police to find the suspect, or suspects, who destroyed their place of worship. Many members of the community church voiced their sadness on Facebook and offered to assist the staff in restoring the building to its usual, inviting condition.
