Worker Killed By Spotsylvania Trash Compactor Was Weeks Into Job, Sheriff Says The worker killed by a trash compacter in Spotsylvania County on Thursday July 7 has been identified as a 28-year-old man, authorities said. Brandon Nutter of Mineral was just over two weeks on the job when the incident occurred at the Chancellor Convenience Center just before 8:25 a.m., according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office.  Nutter had been working for the Solid Waste Collections Division as a heavy equipment mechanic, authorities said.  The Chancellor Convenience Center will be closed Friday, July 8, and Saturday, July 9.
