Traffic slowed to a crawl on I-66 in Fairfax County on Tuesday afternoon as police investigated a reported crash with injuries, officials say. Shortly after 3 p.m. on July 30, several eastbound lanes on the interstate were closed near VA-123 (exit 60/Chain Bridge Road) as first responders worked to clear the scene and evaluate the crash. A group of fraudsters from Maryland tried their luck one too many times and found themselves behind bars, unable to enjoy the fruits of their ill-gotten gains in Fairfax County. A man suspected of abducting a woman then fleeing from deputies is in custody after a a pursuit through both Loudoun and Fairfax counties, authorities said. Two people are dead after a single-car crash in Fairfax County on Thursday, Oct. 6, police said.Sometime before 5:45 a.m., officers responded to the scene of the crash, in the area of Route 7 Leesburg Pike and Chain Bridge Road, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.Police said they discovered two victims had died in incident and determined speed was likely a factor in the crash.
