At around 4:25 p.m. July 25, Candies Wheeler became violent in a fight with a female relative in the 16200 block of Jetty Loop, Prince William County Police reported.
Wheeler grabbed the woman's neck and strangled her until she lost consciousness, police said.
Authorities said he eventually left the area the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Wheeler was identified by the victim and once he was in police custody, he was charged with strangulation and domestic assault and battery, according to law enforcement.
His court date was pending and he was held on a $2,500 secured bond, police said.
