On August 19, at around 9:20 p.m., officers arrived at a creek near Brooke Road and Poplar View Drive where they found a car in the water, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Katura Francis, 22, had driven her Nissan Versa into the water and when law enforcement encountered her, she had glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol, officials reported.
Francis, who was unharmed in the incident, was charged with DUI and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail until she was sober, authorities said.
