At around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, officers responded to reports of gunshot sounds in the 8300 block of Grave Street and found Darlin Ariel Diaz Flores suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
Flores was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and died an hour later, authorities said.
Detectives said Flores was with a group of friends during the incident. They allegedly got into an argument with someone passing by and a shooting broke out, law enforcement said.
The suspect was described as Hispanic man, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants during the shooting, police reported.
