At around 4:20 p.m. on August 25, law enforcement responded to the 5000 block of Caryn Court where a group of young people were playing outside of an apartment, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
During the incident, Kevin Moran-Perez approached the group of individuals and showed he was armed with a knife, police reported.
Moran-Perez then grabbed one of the juveniles by the hand, before the victim was able to break free, authorities said.
Police said no one was harmed in the incident and the three juveniles that were present were able to flee from the suspect.
Moran-Perez was found nearby and police charged him with assault and possession of a schedule I or II drug, authorities reported.
He was held without bond, officials said.
