A police officer was held down and strangled after becoming heavily intoxicated during a family gathering at a cabin, according to court documents obtained by Daily Voice on Friday, Oct. 9.
Michael McGeehan, 44, a Middlesex Township Pennsylvania police officer and Shippensburg father of five, was found unresponsive on the front porch of a cabin at 7190 Dam Run Road in Cummings Township during the early morning hours of July 11, investigators wrote in the affidavit of probable cause.

An 18-year-old who left her Washington, DC, home to celebrate her birthday and never returned has been identified 40 years after her body was found beside a Pennsylvania highway, state police announced on Friday, Oct. 9.
Gladys T. Johnson, known as “Tinker,” was identified this month as the woman whose remains were discovered in a wooded area in Kline Township, Schuylkill County, on April 8, 1986, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Johnson had left her home in March 1986 to celebrate her birthday, police said. Her family had been searching for her ever since.

DC Man Dies Weeks After Crash, Family Notified More Than Month Later, Police Say
A Maryland pedestrian died weeks after being struck by a vehicle, but it took investigators more than a month to track down his family.
District resident Anthony Wright, 65, was struck at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, while walking along Indian Head Highway near Farmington Road in Accokeek, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.
Wright survived the initial crash and was taken to a hospital, where he spent more than three weeks before dying from his injuries on Friday, Aug. 28.

A Pennsylvania police officer whose death was initially described as a “sudden medical emergency” was strangled to death during a fight, investigators now say.
Michael “Mike” McGeehan, 44, a longtime Middlesex Township police officer and father of five, died following an altercation with 25-year-old Paden Edward Frey on July 11, according to the Lycoming Regional Police Department.
