Pickup Truck Upended, Two Injured In Massapequa Car Crash, Officials Say
A two-car crash injured two people on Long Island on Monday, Aug. 17, officials said.
The cars collided at Hicksville Road and Parkhill Avenue in Massapequa, according to John F. Scalesi Jr., a member of the Nassau County Police Department commissioners’ council.
A blue Ford pickup truck was flipped on its side on Parkhill Ave., according to photos shared by Scalesi. The front windshield of the pickup was smashed, mangled, and falling off the vehicle.

Brandi Karcher, of Delaware Township, succumbed to her injuries sustained in the two-vehicle crash on Route 173 on Wednesday, Aug. 12, authorities said.
At 4:34 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 10, a Kia was traveling west on Route 173 in Bethlehem Township when it collided with a Jeep SUV making a right-hand turn, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, said. A crash between a Ford Van and a Kenilworth dump truck led to numerous injuries on Route 80 in Parsippany on Wednesday, Aug. 5, authorities said.
At 5:14 a.m., a Kenilworth dump truck struck the back of the Ford van on Route 80 east, Caitlin Brennan, a spokeswoman for the New Jersey State police said. A teenage Capital Region prisoner assaulted a jail guard and another inmate, police said Sunday, Aug. 2.
J’von M. Flores, 19, of Halfmoon, was behind bars in Saratoga County jail when he injured the guard in the eye, neck, chest, and leg on Tuesday, July 21, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office said. The guard was treated at a local urgent care facility.

Orangetown police responded to the crash on Route 303, just south of the intersection with Route 340, at approximately 8:52 p.m., where a 2014 Volkswagen station wagon traveling north on Route 303 struck a 2009 Lexus SUV that was stopped in traffic, according to Capt.
