Derek A. Atwater, 45, who police described as undomiciled, is accused of robbing the 7-Eleven at 225-08 Jericho Turnpike in Bellerose Terrace at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8.

A drunk driver on Long Island fled the scene after striking another vehicle over the weekend, police said.
Antonio Cubulesian, 46, of Hampton Bays, was involved in an accident near Flanders Road and County Road 105 in Riverhead around 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, the Southampton Town Police Department said.
Police tracked down Cubulesian’s vehicle shortly after the incident and arrested him for DWI, authorities said. He was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

A Long Island woman made a dramatic escape from an abuser after he shoved her and stole her cellphone on Saturday, Aug. 8, police said.
Ahmed S. Khalil, 54, of Hewlett Neck, was arrested following the attack inside a residence around 2:30 p.m., the Nassau County Police Department said.
Khalil argued with a 50-year-old woman, shoved her to the ground, snatched the victim’s phone from her hands and damaged it, authorities said. The woman, “fearing for her safety,” dashed to a neighbor’s house and called 911, according to Nassau police.

Mehmet Kumbasar, 24, and Ly-Neka Brown, 27, attacked the 23-year-old male victim around 10:45 p.m. on Hempstead Parkway in East Meadow, the Nassau County Police Department said.

Manuel Hernandez was arrested at 2:27 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, within the NYPD's 72nd Precinct, and charged with 13 counts of reckless endangerment, an NYPD spokesperson said.
