Cops Shoot Man In East Garden City After He Points Firearm At Them, Police Say
A Long Island man was shot by police after he allegedly threatened them with a handgun.
The incident took place in East Garden City around 2:45 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 16.
According to Nassau County Police detectives, a witness spotted two men attempting to open the doors of the Verizon store located at 880 Old Country Road.
When the witness approached the men, one of the men pointed what appeared to be a handgun, placing him in fear for his life. He quickly drove away and called 911, police said.

New details are emerging about a dispute between neighbors that ended in a murder-suicide.
Erin Michelle Walker, 36, was shot dead by her neighbor, Daniel Berry, 59, in an apparent murder-suicide in the 400 block of Hill Street in Spring Garden Township around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 21— she was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. on Sunday, May, 22, according to the York County coroner’s office.
Her killer, Berry, was pronounced dead at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to a separate release from the coroner’s office.
