NJ Native, 39, Dies Hiking National Forest In Arizona
A New Jersey native died while hiking in a national forest.
Michael Benedetto La Marca, 39, was hiking at Peralta Trailhead in Arizona's Tonto National Forest when he died Oct. 3, according to his obituary.
More than 14,000 acres of the forest he died in was consumed by wildfire on the day of his death, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
Circumstances around La Marca's death, however, were not made public,

Doris Jean (Biddle) Athans, 92, of Bradenton Beach, FL and formerly of Mount Kisco, died on April 27 at Serenity Gardens of Bradenton Assisted Living Residence.
She passed away peacefully of natural causes in the company of family and friends who loved her.
Doris was born on June 30, 1927 in the rural outskirts of Ann Arbor, MI where she spent her childhood with younger sister, Janet, and older step brothers, Wayne and Red. After a multiyear battle with dementia and short-term illness with COVID-19, Lawrence (Larry) W. Littig, 81, died in Norwalk on May 3.
Born July 18, 1938 in Kalamazoo, MI to John and Dorothy Littig, Larry was a competitive youth tennis player coached by the legendary Vic Braden. After graduating State High School in Kalamazoo, Larry attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, graduating with a BBA.

A Long Island native followed up a career as an actuary by earning a masters in counseling and becoming a Catholic deacon in Connecticut has died.
Deacon Ronald L. Biamonte, 72, of Windsor, formerly of Valley Stream died Wednesday, May 29 at his home.
Born in Far Rockaway on Feb. 23, 1947, son of the late Albert and Mary (Ciampi) Biamonte, he was raised in Valley Stream and attended Holy Name of Mary School and was a graduate of Archbishop Molloy High School, Class of 1965.
