Patrol Car, K-9 Stolen In Gloucester County Prompts 'Shelter-In-Place': Police
A Harrison Township police car with a K-9 aboard was stolen prompting a "shelter in place" in another Gloucester County community, authorities said. On Facebook, West Deptford police said there was a suspect but no arrests had been made early Thursday, July 13. The patrol car theft occurred at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, in Paulsboro. The patrol car was later recovered and the K-9 was safe, according to West Deptford Deputy Police Chief Michael Franks. All other questions were referred to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. Standoff Ends Peacefully In Exeter
A Berks County man was arrested uninjured Sunday following a police standoff in Exeter, authorities said. Police were called to a house near Schoffers Road and Route 562 around 2 p.m. after a man called EMS and threatened authorities, according to WFMZ and the Exeter Police Department. This prompted a shelter-in-place order, which was in effect until 5:10 p.m. when the incident was resolved peacefully, police said.
