Dennis Allen, 75, Dies After Crash In Colerain Township: PA State Police
A 75-year-old man has died following a crash in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Friday, Nov. 22.
Dennis J. Allen, of Quarryville, was driving a car when he approached a stop sign at the intersection of Kirkwood Pike/Route 472 and Stuart Run Road in Colerain Township on Monday, Nov. 11 at 7:31 a.m., according to police.
Allen attempted to turn left onto Kirkwood Pike/Route 472 but failed to yield the right of way to another car traveling down the road, police said in a release. The second car tried to brake but couldn’t stop in time, leading to the collision.

The body of a 39-year-old dad who went missing after a boating accident on the Susquehanna River on Thursday night, Aug. 15, was found on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 17, officials announced.
Brian Pierce, 39, of Quarryville, was boating with two friends near the Muddy Creek boat launch in Drumore Township when the boat malfunctioned, drifted, and struck a rock bed, Pennsylvania state Police Lancaster Trooper Schatzmann detailed in the release.

A "suspicious" disappearance of a man has prompted a reward to be offered for information leading to him, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Matthew "Matty" Whisman, 25, has previously lived in Quarryville, Willow Street, Drumore, Peach Bottom, and Intercourse, Pennsylvania according to his social media profiles.
Matty was last seen at an East Drumore Township home at the end of March, according to troopers.

DNA Connects Quarryville Man To 11-Year-Old Rape Victim: Police
DNA evidence has linked a Quarryville man to the rape of an 11-year-old girl, police announced on Friday, July 14, 2023.
Shane Howe, 27, has been under investigation since the Quarryville police were called to a house in the 300 block of West Stanton Road on Dec. 2 2022, according to the police release.
While on the scene for that incident, an 11-year-old girl "confided in the Officer that. (...)Shane Howe, had sexually assaulted her," the police said.

A central Pennsylvania mother has been arrested for corrupting her own children by having them steal from a local thrift store, police say.
Quarryville police have been investigating the theft of shoes by children at the New Hope Community Closet, located at 128 Townsedge Dr. in East Drumore Township, which happened on May 16, according to a release by the department.
