Multi-Vehicle Crash Partially Closes I-81 In Central PA: PennDOT (Developing) A multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer has led to lane restriction on Interstate 81, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice on Friday, Aug. 9.  The crash happened on I-81 South in the center and right lane at mm 58.3 around 4:40 p.m., according to Schreffler.  The lane restriction is at Exit 59: Route 581 East to Route 11: Camp Hill, according to PennDOT's 511PA. PSP and Beltway Patrol are on the scene.  No injuries have been reported at the time of publishing.  Check back here for possible updates.

PA State Police Car Catches Fire On Route 80 A PSP vehicle caught fire on a Luzerne County highway late Monday, July 15, according to officials.  The blaze happened on Route 80 near mile marker 272.1, said White Haven Fire Company. Troopers brought the flames under control by the time firefighters arrived, and a hose was used to soak down the engine compartment, authorities said.  No one was injured, the fire company added.  Daily Voice has reached out to PSP for details on what caused the fire.

Cold CASE: Remains Of Unidentified Child Found In Philadelphia's Germantown Almost 40 years after her remains were discovered in Philadelphia, authorities are still working to identify the Collom Street Jane Doe.  Skeletal remains including a skull, a jaw, and three other bones were located in a wooded area on Nov. 25, 1984, according to state police and the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System. The bones were discovered by a resident's dog behind a property at 456 E. Collom Street, authorities say. Suspect Sought For Stabbing Luzerne County Man In Chest: State Police Troopers are looking for a man accused of stabbing a Freeland Borough resident in the chest.  Authorities said Jahvile Davis-Boyd stabbed the victim at 317 Washington Street on Sept. 17, 2021.  He is wanted for felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault, state police said. Anyone with information can call 1-800-472-8477 or submit a tip to PSP.  Tips that lead to an arrest could result in a cash reward.

59-Year-Old Killed In Carbon County, Suspect In Custody: State Police One person is in police custody after a 59-year-old man was killed with a "piercing object" in Lehighton Borough, troopers said in a release.  The victim was found with "life-threatening injuries from being struck with a piercing object" at an address on Carbon Street, according to state police.  He was taken to St. Luke's, Carbon Campus and pronounced dead, authorities said.  A suspect is in custody and there is "no threat to the surrounding public/community members," police said.  PSP is investigating.

New Details Emerge In Schuylkill County Double Murder: PSP State police investigators are shedding new light on the murders of Hunter Mock and Angel Caraballo.  The teens were found dead in a wooded area near Ferndale Road in New Philadelphia Borough early on Oct. 10, authorities have said. Now, troopers believe 18-year-old Mock and 16-year-old Caraballo had gone to the wooded area known as "the Sanchez" to go target shooting with two other people on the night of Oct. 8.
