Boil Water Advisory Ends In York, Cumberland Counties: Penn American Water Co.
Pennsylvania American Water Co. issued a boil water order for customers in York and Cumberland counties, starting on Friday, Aug. 9, and ending on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
The company initially warned that 42,000 customers were affected in the following areas: Camp Hill, Lemoyne, New Cumberland, Shiremanstown, West Fairview and Wormleysburg boroughs; East Pennsboro, Hampden, Lower Allen, Silver Spring townships; parts of Middlesex and Upper Allen townships; and parts of Fairview and Newberry townships.

A Pennsylvania firefighter of over 50 years has died, according to his family and friends.
John Bruetsch, 65, a New Cumberland native living in Enola, passed away on June 9, his sister Karen Blazina announced on Facebook.
In her post she wrote the following:
"Today I lost my younger brother. Unexpected that the man, the husband, the father, the grandfather, the brother, the uncle, the fireman, the PIO for Cumberland County answered his last call on earth. He is loved and will be missed. You fought a great fight John Bruetsch ....peace."

The three people who were found dead after crashing into a tree overnight while fleeing from state troopers have been identified, Pennsylvania State Police announced in an updated release on Friday, May 5, 2023.
Eric Carl, 37, of New Cumberland, was driving the vehicle, Carly Renee Taylor-Robinson, 26, of Harrisburg, was in the front seat and Darun Marquis Alexander was in the back seat, 33, of Harrisburg, according to the police.

Mom Of Three Killed In Murder-Suicide By Ex-BF In PA While Her Children Were Home
A mother of three was shot dead, her husband was injured, and her ex-boyfriend killed himself— at a central Pennsylvania home with her children inside, authorities say.
Joseph Paul Pentz, 32, of Etters, shot Jessica McCulloch, 36, of New Cumberland, dead at her home in the 1200 block of Bridge Street in New Cumberland around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 6, according to the Cumberland County coroner's office.
Both died from gunshot wounds to the head, the coroner's office says.
McCulloch's husband was also injured and remains in the hospital, PennLive reports.

Harrisburg Native, Arizona Man, 74, Dies In Cumberland County Crash
A Harrisburg Native, from Arizona died in a crash on Friday, according to Pennsylvania State police.
Edwin Patterson McNamara, 74, of Green Valley, AZ, died in a crash along Pennsylvania 581 East heading towards the on ramp to Interstate 83 Southbound in New Cumberland at 9:19 a.m.
McNamara was pulled over on the side of the ramp when two other drivers collided with his vehicle-- pushing his vehicle into a concrete barrier.
McNamara died at the scene.
Charges have not been filed against the other parties at the time of publishing.

"I'm a heroin addict, am I going to jail for that?"
That's what police say 33-year-old Krystin Nycole Marchese told them moments after causing a deadly Route 11/15 wreck in Enola while on her way to buy fentanyl Tuesday, according to the affidavit.
Marchese, 33 of Lemoyne ,was driving the Ford F250 that slammed into Lee Potteiger, 58, causing injuries that resulted in his death.
When police arrived on the scene of the crash, Marchese was in the passenger seat of the Ford looking, “disoriented and lethargic” with injuries to her face and arms, according to police.
