East Orange is taking center stage at this year's Kennedy Center Honors.
Queen Latifah and Dionne Warwick, both natives of East Orange, are among the 46th Kennedy Center honorees for lifetime artistic achievement. The duo, along with Billy Crystal, Barry Gibb and Renee Fleming, will be feted at a ceremony later this year.

Music Manager Sentenced For Stealing Thousands From Hudson Valley Rock Band
A music manager who took advantage of a Hudson Valley band to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars will spend time behind bars for stealing from his clients, authorities announced.
Richard Clair, Jr., age 52, a resident of Ohio and former manager of the Orange County-based band “The Racer,” has been sentenced to one year in jail for stealing $50,000 from them while falsely claiming that he was promoting an album and concert tour.

Six rappers accused of using stolen payment cards to buy private jets, designer puppies, and charter yachts have been indicted on fraud charges by a federal grand jury in Springfield.
The rappers - a group that includes G Herbo and Rockstar Rodie - are from the Chicago area and were indicted for participating in an alleged nationwide wire fraud and identity theft scheme.

Music Legend Clive Davis To Make Major Gift To Bedford Playhouse
Bedford Playhouse announced Thursday, March 22 that music producer Clive Davis pledged substantial support towards the capital campaign that is funding the transformation of its space into a vibrant, state of the art cultural center.
Davis, a five-time Grammy award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member, is credited with discovering some of music’s biggest stars, including Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Carlos Santana, Aerosmith, Billy Joel, Earth, Wind & Fire, Whitney Houston, and Alicia Keys.
